The hotels we use on our tours of Italy

We outline the criteria we apply in selecting the hotels we use on our escorted tours of Italy under the 5 principles that underpin our approach to travel.

We return to Italy regularly to review hotels, and have selected the ones we use on our tours from over 400 that we personally inspected and are sure you will enjoy their facilities and locations.

The hotels are 2-4 star rated, but as I outline in my blog post, the Italian system for rating hotels does not line up with that we use in Australia. The selected hotels are all well-appointed, clean, centrally-located and well-managed. When we visit the Italian lakes district, we choose lakefront hotels.

We don't release the names of our hotels until 3-6 months prior to departure when the hotel bookings are confirmed, however you can peruse photographs of a selection of the hotels, including sample rooms, in the gallery on this page. We are happy to tell you the proposed hotels on request.
